A Yelm woman was taken to an area hospital via LifeFlight after she was injured while hiking near Lower Falls Campground Saturday.
Stephanie Amell, 37, was hiking with her boyfriend near the Lewis River when she tripped and fell while attempting to reach the water’s edge, according to the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office.
Amell fell 10 to 15 feet and reportedly had arm, rib and back pain, the sheriff’s office said.
Amell was being assisted by hikers and campers when a deputy and medics from North Country EMS responded. She was taken by ambulance to Swift Campground, where they were met by a LifeFlight helicopter who took her to an area hospital. Her condition was not available.
