The Vancouver Police Department is trying to pair a stolen camera with its owners by sharing its contents, which include this photograph. (Vancouver Police Department)

The Vancouver Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle that carried stolen property, including a camera with multiple "unique" photographs, as the department described them, which the department is sharing in an effort to find the camera's owner. The camera was found among stolen property taken when officers came upon a stolen vehicle in February, the police said. Among the photographs the department shared appear to be a few mock awards or art projects. One appeared to be a framed award with a neck ribbon and medal emblazoned with the words "World's Worst Analogy." Another photo included what looked like an upright, gilded pelvis and spine, with compass in swivel hanging from the top. A Columbian reader later Tuesday afternoon pointed out the artwork photographed appears to have been that of Portland artist Sharon Smith. The bad analogy award is part of her politically-focused "Ignoble Prizes" collection, with the necklace being an award for Republican senator and presidential candidate Rick Santorum, according to her website. The spine sculpture is titled "Compass for the Democrats to Find Their Spine," her site said. The department asked anyone who thinks the camera belongs to call the department evidence unit at 360-487-7404 to provide identifying information related to the camera.
