A Longview woman was hospitalized after a medical problem caused her to sideswipe another car Wednesday morning on Interstate 5 near the 179th Street exit, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The state patrol said Patricia A. Ross, 68, of Longview, and Heidi G. Werner, 50, of Gig Harbor, were heading south on Interstate 5 when, around 10:40 a.m., Ross experienced a medical issue.
Her Toyota Corolla drifted from its lane and into Werner’s Chevrolet Cruze. Ross’ car went into the grass beside the roadway then into a cable barrier, state patrol said.
Ross was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for her injures. Werner was not seriously injured, state patrol said. Both were wearing seat belts. Ross’ condition was not available.
