‘Pokemon Go’ search turns up loaded gun in Hazel Dell

Two brothers found something a little more intense than they planned for while out playing "Pokemon Go." While walking in a field off Highway 99 in Hazel Dell, the two found a loaded handgun, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said today. The pair stopped searching for Pokemon, called 911 and waited until Clark Count Sheriff's Deputy Brian Wade showed up to retrieve the gun. According the release, the gun was most likely discarded a while ago, as it “had visible weathering and some rust,” but looked like it was still capable of firing rounds. The gun’s serial number didn’t show up in any law enforcement lost or stolen data base, according to the release. "Pokemon Go" is a mobile game where players walk around looking for virtual Pokemon to capture and train for battles. Wade said in the release that it’s fortunate that two adults found the loaded gun instead of kids. “It might've led to a tragic incident, if it weren't for the Pokemon searchers,” Wade said in the release.
