Vancouver police are on the scene of what is described as a fatal incident involving a man who was apparently lying in the roadway.
Police were called at about 4 a.m. to Southeast 105th Avenue and East Mill Plain Boulevard, near the Wal-Mart store, where a driver reported he had struck someone lying in the street.
They arrived to find the body of a man, perhaps in his 20s or 30s, lying in the roadway. It’s not clear whether the man might have been dead when he was struck by the vehicle. He was wearing dark clothing when he died.
The driver remain on the scene and is cooperating with police, according to The Columbian’s news partner, KATU-TV.
Mill Plain is closed westbound during the investigation.
