East Vancouver — Vancouver-based Venturing Crew 911, a co-ed Scouting unit that teaches 14- to 20-year-olds health and safety training, traveled to Joint Base Lewis-McChord to attend WashJam, the largest gathering of Scouts in the Pacific Northwest. The event, held once every four years, drew more than 4,500 Scouts. The Vancouver crew ran the mountain biking and BMX biking program at the jamboree and provided medical support. The group will attend the Boy Scouts National Jamboree in West Virginia in 2017 for mountain biking and specialized medical support. Anyone interested in the program is asked to contact Wes Forgey at wesforgey@gmail.com or Mike Anderson at mikeanderson3@comcast.net
