The Interstate 5 offramp to Northeast 99th Street in Hazel Dell was blocked throughout the morning commute Friday following a tractor-trailer fire.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene of the fire, reported just after 6:30 a.m., and blocked two lanes of the road for about half an hour, according to emergency radio traffic monitored by The Columbian.
Crews put out the blaze, but the rig’s cargo of cow feed was smoldering and needed to off-loaded, Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn said.
The offramp remained closed until about 10 a.m.
