John Blom, top left, Republican candidate for the District 3 position on the Clark County council, has raised $60,393 for his campaign as of mid-October 2016, according to filings with the state's Public Disclosure Commission, more than any other candidate seeking a seat on the county council this fall. Tanisha Harris, top right, his Democratic opponent, is just behind at $55,574.

In the race for the District 4 position, there's less money and a bigger fundraising gap between the two candidates. Democrat Roman Battan, bottom left, has raised $19,108, less than half of the nearly $42,000 raised by Republican Eileen Quiring, bottom right.

The race for District 4 position on Clark County council is now over.

Roman Battan conceded the race to Eileen Quiring earlier today in a Facebook post that expressed gratitude to his supporters and encouraged them to stay involved.

“Moving forward I hope that you continue to stay engaged,” reads the post. “Local government plays a big role in our daily lives and we should expect and demand that our elected officials represent everyone in our community; not just those on the winning side of a conservative or liberal ideological coin.”

The most recent count of ballots from Clark County elections shows Quiring, a Republican, expanding her lead to 26,292 votes over Democrat Battan’s 16,609 votes. On election night Battan refused to concede the race until more ballots were counted.

In the District 3 race, Republican John Blom has expanded his lead to over 400 votes over Democrat Tanisha Harris. However, neither candidate has declared victory.

More election results are due to be released later today.
