Vancouver police are investigating after a man robbed an Orchards-area bank Wednesday morning.
The robbery at Umpqua Bank, 10705 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., was reported from a nearby business just after 10 a.m., Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.
A man entered the bank, demanded cash and fled on foot, she said. No weapons were seen or implied, she said.
Police searched the area for the suspect, described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, about 180 pounds and wearing a gray shirt and jeans, Kapp said. He wore a bandana over his face, she said.
Police notified nearby Covington Middle School, which was put on a modified lockdown temporarily, Kapp said.
