Washougal police are investigating the death of a 78-year-old woman which investigators say is suspicious.
Police officers and fire personnel responded to a residence in the 3300 block of H Street at about 6 a.m. today for a welfare check, according to the Washougal Police Department.
Authorities found the woman inside the residence and pronounced her deceased, police said.
Although it is in the early stages of investigation by the agency’s major crimes unit, the death is considered suspicious in nature, according to Washougal police.
All parties involved have been identified and there is no danger to the public, police said. No arrests have been announced.
The identity of the victim and the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office
Washougal police was assisted by the Camas Police Department and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
