Lewis River Rotary Club hears Ferguson discuss AG duties

Battle Ground -- Bob Ferguson, attorney general for the state of Washington, addressed the Lewis River Rotary Club on March 22. Ferguson gave an overview of the office of Attorney General and some of the duties his staff of more than 1,000 undertakes. In addition to representing various government agencies, including the governor and the Legislature, his office handled more than 20,000 consumer protection complaints in the past year. During the question-and-answer portion of his visit, Ferguson briefly discussed both the McCleary decision on public education funding and reform, as well as the continuing battle to clean up nuclear waste at the Hanford Site in Richland.
