Last call for ballots on school district measures

Ballots are due Tuesday for measures proposed by six Clark County school districts to replace their current, expiring levies, and one bond measure proposed by another school district. Property tax levy measures are on the ballot in the Evergreen, Green Mountain, Hockinson, La Center, Ridgefield and Vancouver school districts. In addition, Camas School District has a proposed property tax bond measure on the ballot. Ballots must be postmarked or dropped off at a ballot drop location by 8 p.m. Tuesday. The three authorized 24-hour ballot drop boxes are at: Battle Ground City Hall, 109 S.W. First St., Battle Ground; Fisher's Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 64th Ave.; and at West 14th and Esther streets in downtown Vancouver. In addition, election workers will be present to accept completed ballots from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at 28 other locations around the county. Any ballot received in a drop location after 8 Tuesday night is not valid. Battle Ground and Washougal are the only Clark County school districts without a measure on the ballot. As of early afternoon Monday, Clark County elections officials had counted 50,526 ballots of 199,859 ballots mailed. That's a 25.3 percent voter turnout so far. The first round of election results will be released by officials after about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.
