A man who allegedly shot and wounded two people early Saturday morning at a home in Five Corners made a first appearance in Clark County Superior Court. Ruben Prado Blancas, 43, appeared Monday on suspicion of two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of first-degree domestic violence burglary. Judge Daniel Stahnke set Blancas’ bail at $300,000 and ordered he not have contact with either of the victims. The relationship between Blancas and the victims is unclear. However, Blancas shares the same last name with one of the victims. Clark County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and gunshots about 1:30 a.m., at a home in the 9700 block of Northeast 115th Court. Deputies found two people suffering from gunshot wounds to their extremities. The wounds were not life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office. The victims, whose identities were not released, were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are not immediately known. Blancas was arrested at the scene. During his hearing, Stahnke appointed defense attorney Jeff Staples to represent Blancas. Staples was not present, however. Blancas will be arraigned June 3. This story will be updated.
